Nook Farm Book Club: "Finn: A Novel"

Finn: A Novel by Jon Clinch (2007)
Thursday, September 2
5:00PM - 6:30PM
At the Mark Twain Museum Center

A dark journey into the heart of one of literature's greatest villians - Huckleberry Finn's father Pap.  Finn is at once a prequel and a parallel to Twain's controversial classic Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.  Pap Finn is a complicated character whose life is marked with violence and racism.  Finn offers another window into the confounding history of race in America.

As Nook Farm Book Club readers have read Adventures of Huckleberry Finn early this year, it should be a particularly lively and interesting discussion led by The Mark Twain House & Museum Executive Director Jeffrey Nichols.

Exciting News! Author Jon Clinch will be joining us by telephone to answer your questions about his novel!

The Nook Farm Book Club is a joint program between the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center and The Mark Twain House & Museum.  Arrive at 5PM for refreshments and introductions.  The discussion begins at 5:30 and ends promptly at 6:30.

Nook Farm Book Club events are free (thanks to the CT Humanities Council, the Stowe Center and the Twain House) but please make a reservation to 860.522.9258 x317 or info@stowecenter.org.

As always, Nook Farm Book Club selections are available for sale in the Stowe and Twain Museum Bookstores.  Your purchases help support our programs.
