Stowe Prize in Place Packages

Gathering under the Big Tent for the presentation to the winning author is a cornerstone of the Stowe Prize experience.

Since the Big Tent will shelter in place this year, we’re bringing Stowe Prize to you. We’re partnering with local businesses, packaging up an evening of food, cocktails, and everything you need to experience Stowe Prize while you watch/participate in Part 2, the live Q + A on Sunday, October 4. Deadline to order is Tuesday, September 29.

Hartford Flavor Company created a signature cocktail for Stowe Prize in Place. The Count Louis, a blend of HFC’s own Wild Moon Rose, Cognac, and raspberry, gets its inspiration from the Roffignac – a Big Easy favorite named for Count Louis Philippe Joseph de Roffignac, who served as the mayor of New Orleans from 1820 – 1828.

The Pond House Café brings more inspiration from Albert’s hometown with a Cajun menu featuring many Louisiana favorites. The Pond House Café hires, trains, and mentors people recently released from prison, building their job skills and preparing them for a career in the restaurant industry.

Sandy Lamo of A Special Place Floral Design Studio will create a seasonal bouquet of flowers to share with you. When Albert was released from prison, the first thing he did was buy all the flowers at a local store. He then visited the grave sites of family and friends who passed while he was in solitary confinement, leaving the flowers in their memory. This moment was significant enough to Albert that he discusses it in Solitary.

All packages also include access to the September 23 release of the pre-recorded broadcast and a copy of Solitary signed by Woodfox.
