Stowe Prize in Place, Part 1: A Conversation with 2020 Stowe Prize winner Albert Woodfox & Mayor Ras Baraka is a free, professionally recorded broadcast premiering Wednesday, September 23 at 7 p.m. Available to stream through October 4. Registration is required.

 

This conversation will be a stimulating discussion between two great thinkers. Topics discussed include systemic racism, mass incarceration, and the inhumanity of solitary confinement in the U.S. Woodfox and Baraka delve deeper examining the connection between slavery and the injustice in U.S. prison system.

 

Their dialogue lays bare the enduring importance of our inner voice, our creative spirits, and the impulse to write about one’s life as a means to inspire change.

 

This pre-recorded program is being professionally produced by a team of videographers, editors, and others across New Orleans, Newark and Hartford.
