Her Words Changed the World

Her Words Changed the World is an hour-long program that explores the life and impact of American novelist Harriet Beecher Stowe, with a particular focus on her influential antislavery novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin. This program explores Stowe’s motivations and goals, the role her writing played in increasing antislavery sentiment in America, and encourages attendees to examine the connections between past and present as they reflect on social issues that matter to them in the present day. Funding for this program provided by the Friends of the LibraryRegistration required.
