Burn

Join us for a viewing and Salons at Stowe discussion of short film Tobacco Burn (2014; 17 minutes) with writer/director Justin Liberman. Decades before the Civil War, the actions of a brutal overseer spark the fire of revolution on a Southern tobacco farm. Filmed in South Windsor, CT.

 

Liberman is Program Director for University of Hartford’s School of Communication Cinema Program. He was a directing fellow at Columbia University where he earned his MFA in film directing. He spent three years working under Michael Mann (Heat, Collateral) and David Mamet (House of Games, Redbelt) and was a shadow director for Allen Coulter on Boardwalk Empire. His narrative films have been screened and won honors in numerous international film festivals.
