This workshop provides writers of all ages and levels a supportive and inspirational environment to craft and share writing for social justice. The workshop’s theme is Identifying and Connecting with Audiences.
Through expert-led prompts, activities, and discussion, you will learn how to use writing to bear witness, build empathy, and advocate for positive change.
Bring something you’ve been working on or begin a new piece at the workshop.
Lunch, coffee, tea and snacks provided.
Members and Hartford residents: $25; Non-members: $40.

Instructor Dr. Catherine Burton is Program Coordinator at the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center. Before joining the Center, Burton taught college literature, writing, and publishing for 10 years, most recently at Quinnipiac and Lehigh Universities. She is passionate about the public humanities and believes in the power of words to change the world. Burton holds a Ph.D. in English from Lehigh University and an M.A. and B.A. in English from the University of Connecticut.
