The Stowe Center Mourns the Passing of Former Chair of the Board of Trustees Amy Robinson

From: Briann Greenfield, Executive Director and Susan Johnson, Chair of the Stowe Center Board of Trustees

The Stowe Center is saddened to hear about the passing of our former trustee Amy Robinson. Amy was widely known as a kind, generous, and thoughtful person, whose joy of life and warm smile influenced those around her.

Amy served as board chair from 2007-2009, a period which coincided with the Stowe Center’s 40th-anniversary celebration and which led to the conception of the Stowe Prize Big Tent Jubilee.  As chair, Amy worked to build board strength, capacity, and cohesion. She promoted the importance of mission-focus and applied that principle to the development of marketing and communications. Amy assisted in the recruitment of the design firm Cronin & Co, which created our flaming pen logo. She was also part of the team that developed our tagline, “Her Words Changed the World.”

After her formal tenure on the board, Amy remained an active and engaged member of the Stowe Center family, using her deep community connections to build partnerships and further the Stowe Center’s mission.

We know Amy’s loss will be felt throughout the community and we send our sincerest condolences to her family and friends.

Amy’s obituary can be found here. Her memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, June 15 at First Congregational Church in Bloomfield. A reception will follow the service.
