Benjamin H. Nissim Elected to Board of Trustees of the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center

STAMFORD, CT (May 22, 2019)…Murtha Cullina LLP is pleased to announce that Benjamin H. Nissim has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center.  He will serve a three-year term. 

The Harriet Beecher Stowe Center, located in Hartford, preserves and interprets Stowe’s Hartford home and the Center’s historic collections, promotes vibrant discussion of her life and work, and inspires commitment to social justice and positive change. 

“I am excited about being elected to the Stowe Center’s Board of Directors,” said Ben Nissim. “The Center pursues vitally important work on historical and contemporary social issues that are relevant not only to the greater Hartford area but nationally.  I am honored to participate in advancing the Center’s mission.” 

Mr. Nissim represents clients in a variety of complex commercial disputes. His experience includes providing counsel on and litigating matters involving breach of contract, business torts, professional malpractice, and insurance and reinsurance coverage on behalf of businesses and individuals. He has experience in state and federal courts and in arbitration.  

Mr. Nissim also frequently represents secured and unsecured creditors and trustees in bankruptcy and bankruptcy-related litigation. He has prosecuted and defended against avoidance actions and other claims in numerous adversary proceedings and contested matters. He has also provided strategic counsel to clients on issues arising out of state insurer rehabilitation and liquidation proceedings. 

Mr. Nissim received his J.D., magna cum laude, from University of Notre Dame Law School. While in law school, he was the Executive Editor of the Journal of Law, Ethics and Public Policy. He received his B.A. from Wesleyan University.
