Follow the story of Harriet Beecher Stowe and the impact of her anti-slavery novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin through a constellation of artifacts, manuscripts, and images. Our various themed exhibits allow a deeper understanding of the extraordinary and complicated life and work of Stowe, the best-selling book’s impact on American race history in 19th-century, and its legacy today.

All collections and images are property of the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center, Hartford, CT unless otherwise noted.

This digitization pilot project is funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and CT Humanities.
