A Juneteenth Discussion

On Juneteenth, join the conversation on Black Lives Matter with featured guest Stacey Queen, Education Associate, The Amistad Center for Art & Culture.

 

Following the discussion, participate in a free African Drumming Workshop
from 1-2 PM with teaching artist Ray Gonzalez.

 

Juneteenth commemorates the June 19, 1865 announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas, and more generally the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans throughout the former Confederacy of the southern United States.
