FREE EVENT: Emerging Activists

Arts and Crafts Children's Hour

May 18, 2024

Join us for a delightful Children’s Hour planned from 1:15 to 2:15 pm. During this time, there will be arts and crafts activities, followed by a story reading session featuring the books “The Undefeated” and “Life Doesn’t Frighten Me.”

  • “The Undefeated”: This powerful picture book by Kwame Alexander & Kadir Nelson. It celebrates the resilience, strength, and achievements of Black Americans throughout history. The rhythmic text and stunning illustrations make it a captivating read for children and adults alike.
  • “Life Doesn’t Frighten Me”: Another wonderful book, written by Maya Angelou. This empowering poem encourages courage and fearlessness in the face of life’s challenges.

We hope families enjoy both the creative activities and the inspiring stories during this special hour!

Please consider staying to join the Inheriting Freedom: An Intergenerational Tour from 2:30 – 3:30 pm.
