Food Sustainability through People and Law

Salons at Stowe

December 27, 2023

This week we consider our relationship with food, those who grow it, and the little understood Farm Bill. The literary magazine, The Common, has an issue dedicated to short fiction, essays, and poetry written by farmworkers. Using these pieces, as well as the history of and current debates around the Farm Bill, we will discuss food justice, sustainability, and access. Read poetry pieces written by farmworkers!

We invite you to join us for Salons at Stowe, 21st-century parlor conversations about contemporary social justice issues over snacks and refreshments. Since 2008, Salons have provided a forum for lively discussion on topics rooted in the 19th century that remain pressing today.
